Move for Epilepsy - Recap
Moving for Epilepsy | March
March is Epilepsy Awareness Month in Australia.
This year, we brought our community together for the very first March Month of Movement - Move for Epilepsy.
And for a pilot… it became something really special.
What it was
Throughout March, participants committed to moving their bodies every day - in whatever way worked for them - to raise awareness, build connection, and support Australians living with epilepsy.
This challenge was designed to be inclusive from the start.
And that’s exactly how it showed up.
The result
💜 22 participants joined us
💜 $1,760 raised for epilepsy awareness and support
But beyond the numbers - something bigger happened.
A month of real movement
Our March Movers showed up in ways that were real, sustainable, and deeply human.
Movement didn’t look one particular way... it looked like life.
Cleaning the kitchen.
Walking between commitments.
Running when time allowed.
Yoga. Gym sessions. Swimming.
Dancing in pyjamas.
Some days were big.
Some days were quiet.
Every single one counted.
A community built in real time 💜
Inside our WhatsApp group, something powerful grew.
Encouragement.
Accountability.
Shared wins.
Honesty on the hard days.
People fitting movement around work, family, and everything in between. And still finding ways to show up.
No pressure. No perfection. Just consistency and care.
Why it mattered
Because 1 in 25 Australians have, or will have, epilepsy in their lifetime.
March Month of Movement helped make that reality more visible.
Every post shared.
Every step taken.
Every conversation started.
It all contributed to greater awareness, understanding, and support.
All funds raised support the work of 1IN25 Foundation.
Looking ahead
This was just the beginning.
We learned so much.
We built something meaningful.
And we’re already thinking about how this evolves next year.
(A new name might even be coming 👀)
