The 25-Hour Run Challenge (2026) - Recap

Moving for Epilepsy | March 28–29

To mark Epilepsy Awareness Month, I took on a challenge that was equal parts daunting, meaningful, and deeply personal.

I ran and walked 2km loops for 25 hours straight - through the day, into the night, and into the next morning - to raise awareness and funds for Australians living with epilepsy.

And together, we made it happen.

Why 25 hours?

Because 1 in 25 Australians have, or will have, epilepsy in their lifetime.

The 25 hours represented that number. A visible, physical reminder of how common epilepsy is, even though it is so often misunderstood or unseen.

Every hour represented thousands of Australians and their families.

Every loop was about visibility.

Every step said: epilepsy is not rare, and it deserves understanding, support, and action.

This run turned a statistic into something people could see, feel, and be part of.

It supported 1IN25 Foundation and everyone living with epilepsy - diagnosed, undiagnosed, supported, or still searching for answers.

The result

🕖 Start: 7:00am, Saturday 28 March
🕗 Finish: 8:00am, Sunday 29 March
🔁 Format: Continuous 2km loops

Total distance: 100km in 25 hours

I didn’t do it alone. Not for a single moment.

A community effort 💜

There was always someone beside me.

Running. Walking. Talking. Supporting.

Old friends, new faces, people dropping in and staying longer than they planned. It never felt like a solo challenge.

Special shoutouts:

💜 Tess — 16 hours of support
💜 Dave — 8 hours
💜 James — drove from Brisbane to run from 8pm–midnight

The support on the track was constant and so was the support behind the scenes.

The marquee was never left unattended.

💜 Kathryn — 1–5am (after her car broke down, she still made it via bus and tram)

💜 Treath & Billy — 9pm–1am, finishing with a Maccas coffee run

Through the quietest, hardest hours, there was always someone there.

This run was for…

Families who sleep lightly, listening for seizures

Parents running on little rest and endless love

People living with epilepsy who keep showing up

Everyone who deserves understanding, dignity, and support
